ART90266: Thousands of Dollars Raised for Arts & Education in the South Bay
In its third year, ART90266 was bigger than ever. 250 guests attended. 30 works of art were sold. $35,000+ was raised. And as a result, 1,400+ South Bay students will visit LACMA.
The guest count nearly doubled from the previous year. Thanks to the generosity of the South Bay community and participating artists, more than $35,000 was raised - the most successful auction to date. These funds will send 1,400 South Bay elementary school students on a field trip to LACMA; remaining funds will go towards establishing "Artist in Residency" programs by The LA25 Foundation.
ART90266 is organized by LA25, a network of local entrepreneurs and business owners. PCA Senior Partner Chris Salling is the founding member of ART90266 and is responsible for its branding. “We are trying to support arts and education in the South Bay by shining a light on local artists and supporting emerging artists in the classroom,” Chris told the Beach Reporter recently. “It’s the usual message, arts education is usually the first to get cut.”
Since 2011, ART90266 has raised more than $72,000, which has been used to fund thousands of student field trips to LACMA.
